“I think the hardest thing in life is to forgive. Hate is self-destructive. If you hate somebody, you’re not hurting the person you hate, you’re hurting yourself. It’s a healing, actually, it’s a real healing … forgiveness.” ~ Louie Zamperini
We just watched the movie premiere of UNBROKEN tonight. This film shows the horrific conditions and treatment he endured. Suffering and perseverance are terms most of us do not fully comprehend. Situations we suffer through may at times be difficult to bear but under the surface is a greater knowledge and understanding of who our Father is. When we submit to Him through it all, and trust in Him, it is His strength that carries us.
It is a powerful true story of Louie Zamperini. A lot of facts from his story were left out and it was very short compared to the book. This movie only showed the first two parts of his story. This revealed his Olympic journey and his suffering and abuse in war. It left out his journey through P.T.S.D. and alcholism. The most valuable part to his story was how he received true redemption, forgiveness and healing from Christ Jesus. As disappointing as it was to have Louie’s true story of redemption not shown as it is in the book, overall, UNBROKEN, is still a must see film. ❤️❤️❤️ (3 out of 5 hearts)
