Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; (1 Peter 5:2-3)
His TRUTH went forth, again, as we were inside but last night there was an extra amount of courage needed to deliver His timely message. It wasn’t the typical study we have done over the past few months but God spoke HIS word of truth over the women inside because He loves them and knows that where His Truth is there is freedom.
It was brought to our attention that some music (Jesus Culture) we had been listening to, worshipping with, and taking in for the women to hear had some very deceptive and false teachings. It grieved our hearts, as we all loved worshipping with their music. However, there was a definite underlying agenda of deception and they were not standing for His truth. Rationalizing why we listen to them wouldn’t be approved by our most Holy and Pure God. We had to stop, we had to speak, we had to share this revelation with the women of what God had brought to our attention. We no longer would be taking in their music.
“Does God really say?” comes to mind as we seek out the truth in His word.
Scriptures were shared of how it is easy to start listening to music, preachers, teachers, and other false prophets and become misled and deceived while we think we are following God. This was a lesson for us as much as it was a training up for the women inside.
Ephesians 4:14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting.
His Word warns us to not be led away by the craftiness of deceit whether it is in music, teaching, or preaching. What, and who, are we listening to? Does it match up with His Holy Word? His word is God breathed so we may be complete for His good works. He didn’t just give us His word for us to enjoy occasionally, use for our personal agendas and benefits, but to keep us from sinning against Him. We need to use it. Read it. Look at it and compare all things with His truth to see where deceptions are coming in.
Are we following our own desires or His desires? (2 Tim 4:3, Psalm 37:4) We boldly told them, “We miss a lot of truth when we are seeking entertainment and pleasure.” There is no compromise in truth and whole families are being destroyed by not living in the whole truth of God’s word. Are we really wanting His word to transform our lives or do we want to be comforted, entertained, have our emotions tickled, and just enjoy our time in the church?
There is only ONE gospel. Paul preached this truth wherever he went as he knew how desperate he needed JESUS as his savior, and the more he grew in Christ the more he knew he needed JESUS, no other.
So, let me ask you to look and see what is the real agenda of who is teaching you? Who you are listening to in your worship, teaching, and preaching? Are they out for their own gain, to lead you astray, to get you to compromise (even a little) in what the TRUTH of God’s word is? Do you know what they really stand for?
Let us be delighting fully in the Lord so His desires are what are planted in us. May we be bold and courageous to speak up for truth, to know truth, and to live truth. May we not be ashamed of the gospel and what it has done for our lives. May we know, that we know, that we know, and not just that we “think” we know or those teaching us know.
Continue to pray for the women as they seek His truth in their lives. Pray for our team as we seek to know His truth, teach His truth, and live His truth. May we be given His discernment to know and see when truth is not there. Thank you God, all Glory to You, for loving us so much to always be training us deeper into Your perfect truth.
We love you, Lord!
