Information below was put put out by F.A.M.M. – Families Against Mandatory Minimums.
“Women are the fastest growing segment of America’s prison population.
Most women in prison committed drug or property offenses.
The majority of women in prison are mothers.
Women in prison are more likely to have been unemployed or to have health problems at the time they went to prison.
Female prisoners are more likely to experience abuse before and during incarceration.
Conclusion; putting women in prison for non-violent drug and property crimes carries a heavy price for their children, partners, and society. First and foremost we need to get to the root of their problems that led to their criminal behavior.”
Ultimately we know they need to come to know JESUS as their personal Lord and Savior. He is the only way they will be free from these addictions, lies, and crimes.
