Tonight was the launch into the next 30 days where we will enter into 15 prisons. I say fifteen as it is fifteen physical buildings with brick, barbed wire, and metal doors but in reality, spiritual reality, we are entering into many more prisons, as we know He is touching many more lives.
We had several battles come against us, against the guest speaker and her family, and against our time inside tonight but our awesome, amazing, Sovereign, and Holy God conquered them all and delivered His powerful message of truth on healing and forgiveness.
The time for movement to the programs was delayed by an hour. We were able to pray, prepare, sit, and share before we began the Life Group message. As they called the movement the women eagerly game into the room, some very surprised to see us still there, thinking we may have decided to go home…but we waited. They were extremely thankful, hungry, and thirsty as all other programs for the past week had been canceled.
Not a moment was wasted as we prayed and the speaker began to share. It was on a lifetime of burried secrets and pain she was afraid to share with anyone, even her HOLY FATHER. She was a young impressionable girl when she endured great pain, fear, and heartaches at the hand of evil during W.W.II and spent time in a concentration camp. As she moved through her story the women didn’t move. Not one was shuffling in their seat as they intently listened to her pour her heart out.
Then, as she moved from her story to how God had moved her into a place of healing and forgiveness many years later you could hear them … their chains were breaking. She shared how she had to forgive someone, step by step, who had caused her so much pain some thirty years before. She shared how she had to come to a place of trust to let anyone near these darkened and buried rooms of pain where this memory of this man had been stored.
And than in the room where we are all sitting, the doors to the room moved and shifted, and in through the room walks an officer that we know the women often ask for prayer for. She is a very tough and angry officer and we are sure she, too, has caused some great pain to these women, but right there in this moment it spoke of healing forgiveness even from this area of their life. It showed us how God is going to take even this situation of the hardened officer and change it.
We, over the past several months, have watched this officer go from a very mean and cold woman and see her soften and slowly begin to trust us, and her words, manners, and speech are even changing. God is working on her. Her anger and hate isn’t as open as it has been so we will keep praying for her as we know GOD is doing a work in her life. She even whistled tonight as we walked into our room which is one of our team members “GOD WINKS” to let her know He is working.
As the speaker sat sharing on forgiveness we saw something so beautiful and we could even hear it with our ears. Jesus was sitting down at the well with the ladies and telling them of their great and many sins, but how HE was their power to healing and forgiveness. He was telling them HE loved them. He was telling them that He knows and understands their pain, sorrow, shame, guilt, anger, and unforgiveness. He was telling them that He will meet them right where they are with all the hurts stuffed deep within them and that He is a safe and loving God and they can one by one let that room in their life be opened to His truth and begin to heal. They can go from the darkness to the light as He will walk them through it. He told them they could trust Him. He has great things in store for them.
As the final moments approached we could feel His presence and love filling the room. We could feel the peace entering in. We could feel the healing and forgiveness breaking chains and our spiritual ears could hear them hitting the ground as they knew He had forgiven them. He was taking them on a new journey to see and view the treasure chest of glorious promises, purposes, and plans that He has for their future. How glorious it was.
Yes, the time to end the shorted night was here but we knew these ladies were leaving this room different than they had come in just forty-five minutes before.
Our God doesn’t need a certain amount of time to work and start the healing. He is GOD and He is able, more than able, to do all He has promised us and more. He is able to work in whatever amount of time He wants to. Yes, our time with the women was greatly shortened but we know not one miracle was missing from His plan tonight. We know the healing and the forgiveness in the hearts of these women has begun.
1 I waited patiently for the LORD;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
3 He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the LORD.
We thank all of you for praying for this new beginning. We look forward to and anticipate more to come.
To GOD be all the GLORY, HONOR, and PRAISE!
