Our confidence needs to be in Christ Alone!

In our study last night we were discussing building up our Love relationship with our God and how He has told us in His word, “DO NOT WORRY.” NOT WORRYING and TRUSTING GOD in ALL circumstances may be challenging when He is NOT our TRUE LOVE. We read and poured over scriptures of how we can trust Him and knowing HE has our FUTURE in HIS hands. We are NOT to look behind but towards what is ahead … PRESSING FORWARD.

This lesson was quite timely for me as so many of the friends in my life are dealing with and being challenged with these very trust issues in their daily life. Some have stepped out knowing their family is about to change completely as they are having to trust His timing in the adoption of their two children while waiting as the process is prolonged and they aren’t holding their children in their arms yet. They have to place their trust and provision of holding the children into their Father’s hands. Another friend has a new call on her life and has had to step out in faith trusting her Father to provide and open doors that may at times look impossible. My other friend has spent months waiting on the courts while in an abusive relationship and seeing this coming to an end and now fully having to trust Him at His word and not lean on her own understanding. Our sisters inside too struggle with the courts and relationships and our GOD is the same and He doesn’t change. What a comfort to know it is HIM who walks and carries each one of us and we CAN hold fast to Him.

Learning to put our confidence in Christ, Christ alone, and not our flesh takes training. Growing in this area and to know we can press on and take hold of this through Christ is a gift from Him and by His power. Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of HIS might. Note it does not say we must lean or trust in our might or strength. We must understand that as Christians, we must not be strong in ourselves as we can do NOTHING without HIM. NOTHING! John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. We spent some time just focusing on what we can THANK Him for and what HE has allowed us to do and have because of His LOVE for us.

In HIS Confidence.
