Brokenness

Reduced to fragments;

ruptured

torn

fractured

not functioning properly

changing direction abruptly

incomplete

infringed or violated: A broken promise is a betrayal of trust

interrupted, disrupted, or disconnected

weakened in strength, spirit

forcibly separated into two or more pieces…forcibly…forcibly…

Forcibly? So, this tells me not all brokenness was a matter of a choice. Sometimes our brokenness comes to us forcibly and we are left in a downward spiral towards even greater destruction.

Who, yes who, will be willing to pick up these pieces, one by one, some having very sharp edges, and take the RISK of restoring these broken lives? He is! He is the mighty healer and HE will, through us, rebuild, repair, restore, and renew. This is why He came.

β€œThe Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”
And they shall rebuild the old ruins,
They shall raise up the former desolations,
And they shall repair the ruined cities,
The desolations of many generations.” ~Isaiah 61: 1-4 ~

In HIS, piece by piece, rebuilding grip.
