Impatience is a form of unbelief.
The Lord is GOOD to those who wait for HIM! Lamentations 3:25
How many of us do not wait on the Lord or act as if we really believe HE is God. We feel we must pursue something else, or rush to move forward, when a plan of ours was thwarted instead of truly waiting on the LORD and being still knowing HE IS GOD?
strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy
Impatient people are weak and therefore dependent on external supports – like schedules that go just right and circumstances that support their fragile hearts. Their outbursts of oaths and threats and harsh criticisms of the culprits who crossed their plans do not sound weak. But that noise is all a camouflage of weakness. Patience demands tremendous inner strength.
Patience (longsuffering) is indeed a fruit of the Holy Spirit. (Galatians 5:22)
Faith in God’s Gracious wisdom (He knows and sees everything) and treasuring His sovereign reign over our every circumstance, purifies us from the sin of impatience. Faith that does not doubt (James 1:6) is when we receive His power to overcome all things.
Believe HE is who is says He is and that even though “our plans” didn’t work out that HE is still GOD and is more than able to open doors, close doors, and lead us on the path that is straight when we acknowledge HIM in all we do and not our own abilities.
Rest, wait, and remember He is GOD!
