“We must obey God rather than men! The God of our fathers raised Jesus from the dead—whom you had killed by hanging him on a tree. God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel. We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”
What does it mean to OBEY GOD? It means we will sometimes go completely against the flow of human standards. We will look different.
2 John 1:6
And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
The LOVE of GOD is different than the LOVE OF MAN. The LOVE of GOD does not tolerate darkness or sin in any terms. GOD can’t look upon sin.
Today we hear of “PEACE” and “LOVE” in how we should accept others, accept their lifestyles, or even accept their false believes no matter how different or wrong they are but that is not obeying GOD! God has very strong words and directions of what we, HIS CHILDREN, are to do with the false teachers, ones who are divisive, the proud, the deceptive and blinded spirits out there.
God’s word pierces and divides souls. His WORD, the TRUTH pierces souls! His truth divides souls!
We are to be bold and speak truth and if they hear it not, then flee them and leave them, come out from them, not even invite them into our homes.
2 John 1: 9-11
Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work.
(Christians met and worshipped during the first century, and there were no church buildings as we have today. Christians met in a person’s home. A false teacher should not be received by “the house church” and given the opportunity to spread false doctrine. The term “greeting” would mean to welcome the false teacher into the congregation and encourage him)
Don’t let them into the CHURCH, HIS CHURCH, those that DO NOT have HIS TEACHING (Christ’s) but their own.
Romans 16: 17-18
I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.
2 Corinthians 6: 14-18
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers for what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God, as God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” “Therefore come out from them and be separate,” says the Lord
Leave them; they are blind guides, “If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.”
It does not say to stick around, hang out, and be friends does it?
GOD has a definite command. God makes it quite clear where he says to leave, Keep away.
Do not be yoked with them, come out from them and be separate!
People will talk about being bold as a form of gently just loving and accepting everyone no matter where they are walking, in darkness and deception, but that is not how GOD has told us to respond to false teachers is it?
God’s love and Man’s love are different.
God is fully JUST and fully RIGHTEOUS.
They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
They will look smooth, clean, gentle and good talkers.
Paul warned them; Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.
So be on your guard!
God also says;
Titus 3: 10
Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him.
The divisive person will try to come in and cause divisions and take you away from the TRUTH and the teachings of CHRIST and will distort the TRUTH… be on you guard.
Be on your guard and when you are confronted with someone who is divisive, warn them, and then FLEE, KEEP AWAY and DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM!
What will this look like to mere man who thinks the LOVE OF GOD is just accepting everyone, in their darkness? Do you not know that every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire – the fire they do not believe in?
We can’t just go by those who seem to have the appearance of great miracles either as Jesus predicted the future appearance of false prophets, affirming that they can perform great signs and miracles.
READ Matthew 24
At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. . .
For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles.
Test everythingDo not treat prophecies with contempt.
Hold on to the good.
Avoid every kind of evil.
Webster’s 1828 Dictionary describes the words Avoid and Evil:
Avoid: To shun; to keep at a distance from; that is, literally, to go or be wide from; as, to avoid the company
Evil: Moral evil is any deviation of a moral agent from the rules of conduct prescribed to him by God, or by legitimate human authority; or it is any violation of the plain principles of justice and rectitude. Evil is anything that goes against the TRUTH of God’s word.
So BE ON YOUR GUARD and OBEY GOD, HIS WORDS, and HIS TRUTHS – ALWAYS – no matter what people say.
Remember to not fear man or what they may say against you or about you.We are to FEAR GOD!!
We are to walk in the FEAR OF GOD!!
Matthew 10: 28
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
Do not be disowned by GOD – OBEY GOD!
Matthew 10: 32
Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.
Be willing to leave and shake the dust off your feet.
If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town.I tell you the truth; it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the Day of Judgment than for that town.I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
The HOLY SPIRIT NEVER contradicts God’s TRUTH!!Many will come and many will claim they are being led by the HOLY SPIRIT when in reality it isn’t of GOD at all.
One man claimed the Holy Spirit told him not to open the window when it was 100 degrees out.
Just because someone claims it is the HOLY SPIRIT speaking to them does not mean it is.
Remember HE, the TRUE Holy Spirit, cannot go against the WORD OF GOD!
The prophet Muhammad, Joseph Smith, and many other false prophets have claimed to be led by the Holy Spirit or GOD, but what they were teaching, believing, and following went AGAINST the WORD OF GOD.
This shows it is a LIE and not from GOD!
We must always obey GOD and compare all things to God’s TRUTH and anything that contradicts it we must FLEE from!
Stand firm and OBEY!
