There is HOPE for the HOPELESS

We will see things, or blindly view them, too often through the eyes of our own instead of looking through the eyes of HOPE and knowing GOD is GOD.

When we are in a trial, or see a situation that looks impossible, we too often forget the stories of truth and hope in the scriptures of where GOD took the hopeless situation and turned it around for good and used it in ones life and brought MIGHTY GLORY to HIS name.

We mumble, grumble, and cry but do we really cry out to GOD and ask and trust HIM to turn this for the good and know that HE will use it? Do we doubt, are we double minded in all our ways? (James 1)

Today, upon hearing of a sad situation in a friends life, I was reminded of the life of David. There was a story, I am sure many of us remember and know, where David committed a horrible sin with another man’s wife, and then he added to it by trying to cover it up and committed murder, and then when his child was born it died. This looks like a completely hopeless story, one GOD wouldn’t use, and a life of one that most would leave in hopelessness. But what did GOD do? Where did David turn? How did GOD turn this for the good and use it for HIS GLORY?

He took David’s life of sin, cover up, murder, and even the death of a child and turned it into a story of RESTORATION!!!! That is our GOD! Only our GOD could take an empty, and hopeless, situation like this and turn it out for the good and for HIS GLORY.

We are not able to hide anything from GOD. David was not allowed to hide his hearts desires and GOD knew it all. But did GOD forget David and leave him there to wallow in his sin and emptiness? NO!!

GOD in HIS sovereignty came to David, reached into the PIT and pulled him out and stood him on a solid rock again. David was incapable at changing his situation at this point. It was hopeless until GOD reached down and pulled him out. Psalm 40:2 – He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

When did GOD do this, when David was willing to admit his sin against GOD. Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.” (2 Samuel 12:13a)

David didn’t turn and run, he faced it and surrendered, confessed to GOD, knowing GOD was capable to kill him on the spot. But what happened next??

I love this part of the story.

MERCY AND GRACE: And Nathan said to David, “The LORD also has taken away your sin; you shall not die.” (2 Samuel 12:13b)

See the difference in the distance from point a to point b? David was in a place of death and GOD showed him GRACE and MERCY.

Today there is still that HOPE for the hopeless so please don’t give up and don’t quit. CRY OUT TO JESUS, the LORD OF LORDS, surrender, confess, and receive that restoration for your life.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Not just some things, but ALL things, no matter how hopeless they may look through our “human” eyes.

Again I post this song “Cry out to Jesus” by Third Day

  1. Whether you know it or not, your elloquent post was for me.

My son is the lost one. And as I have been reminded again and again… I am continuing to cry out to the Lord to pull him out of the pit. But just as David.. my son has to be willing to confess his sins to God and accept God’s plan.

And now there is a little baby involved. A baby who is already suffering from the lies and continual pain my son is tossing around like confetti.
All I have left is to trust in the Lord. My son has taken everything else away.

God is in control. I know this and lean on it!
